Task:

To reinterpret the structure's form and principles from Project 2.
Then, create a narrative to guide you through 2-3 sensorial spaces.

Only 2-3 materials should be used.
Finally, we had to create four A1-sized presentation boards with orthographic drawings, exploded axonometrics, joinery details, an abstract drawing, and four tattoo stamps.

SPACE AND SENSORY

To start the journey of project 03, I reflected on my previous bamboo project function - Viewing and the design principles - Repetition and Hierarchy. The entire narrative of my project03 is to view our hidden feelings and accept our flaws. I found out the whole experiences in my structure are similar to meditation so I named my final model as ZEN.
My first mockup model was an initial idea of the spaces in the structure. I develop my initial idea into a second mockup and improve it become better. I use the grey board in my first mockup but it doesn't blend harmoniously with balsa wood so I changed to a white modelling board to represent concrete in the second mockup.
I decided to use my second mockup design in the final mockup. I chose timber and concrete as my materials. Timber has a natural feel to it, which I want to incorporate into my architecture. For concrete, the interior of the building will darken, and we can find peace in the darkness. The journey began at the building's entrance, where rough concrete with little light shifted in. Inside, people can find peace and observe their internal feelings. Next, the wooden grid can bring nature into buildings, where people can sit, dangle, walk, or even climb to enjoy and observe their weaknesses. Finally, concrete with a smooth texture allows people to meditate. Meditation encourages people to recognise and accept their flaws. Everyone is not perfect; we must move forward in life while accepting our flaws.
After finishing my final model, I started to work on the 4 A1 presentation board. I included all the requirements in the board.
The last step was preparing my presentation and having an external crit. I learned a lot from the crits and understand more about my weakness.
