"Experiencing Space" is the theme of Project 1. Propose a spatial excursion in groups of 7-8 students, including key considerations of spatial poetics in architecture about the chosen topic matter. Students are required to identify and explain different modifying elements in architecture and the different types of poetic spaces (to create a catalogue of spaces), as well as how they inform spatial use and experience, using at least two (2) non-physical precedent studies per student to analyse on spatial poetics in architecture. Following that, students will develop a spatial expressions journey of many spatial qualities that influence the uses and sensory circumstances of space.

This assignment taught me about leadership and teamwork. It's the first time I've taken charge of a group of eight people. It was a fantastic opportunity for me to hone my leadership and communication skills. One of the most essential things I learned from this assignment was how to modify elements. Those features provide meaning to the structure we built and make it intriguing and poetic. It aids in evoking our feelings between the spaces and the tale behind them. "Light and shadows, air movement, scale and proportion, texture..." All of these factors combined to form a journey. It helps us to visualise ourselves as we pass around the structure.
